First book mail and book picture in the new apartment! 📚 . ❄I already read and loved SPINNING SILVER through netgalley! 💛I can't wait to start reading NOUMENON INFINITY, I got the first book thanks to a giveaway from the author and loved it! 🗡MARKSWOMAN is one I also won on a giveaway and had been meaning to read ever since it came out! . Now that we have an apartment with white walls, more bookshelves and brighter lights, I think I will take more picture while inside. It's going to be much easier! Plus there aren't as many green area around here! 💜 I'm almost done reading an eARC of IN THE VANISHERS' PALACE by Aliette de Bodard and it's really really good!! I usually don't feel drawn to retellings of Beauty and the Beast but this one nails everything that I would have hoped for! I will post a full review closer to release date in October! . Je viens de finir LE CHANT DU COUCOU (CUCKOO SONG) de Frances Hardinge (traduit par Patrick Couton) et c'était vraiment top!! Une amie anglaise me l'avait conseillé et j'ai eu une grosse préférence pour la couverture française donc j'ai attendu de le trouver à la bibliothèque 😀 Bizarrement il paraît que le livre est au rayon jeunesse (MG/YA) en VO mais adulte pour la France. Il est tellement flippant que je peux comprendre 😱 je pense quand même que j'aurais aussi adoré ce roman étant plus jeune car j'étais accro aux Chair de Poule, celui-ci a de même des éléments qui m'ont fait revivre les frissons de l'époque. Son épaisseur est peut être ce qui a fait pencher la balance vers le rayon adulte? Avant-hier j'ai enfin lu les tomes 2 et 3 de PAPER GIRLS! J'avais eu le premier en VO pour mon anniversaire l'année dernière et beaucoup aimé! J'ai donc été ravie de trouver la suite à la médiathèque à côté de mon nouveau chez moi!! 🔥 . Deuxième livre de Justine Niogret que je tente (après avoir abandonné le premier) et malheureusement je n'accroche pas à son style 😦 J'ai quand même fini ce livre dont la couverture m'a accroché le regard en librairie, et j'ai eu la chance de trouver le grand format en bibliothèque 🤖 . Je pense franchement que cette histoire aurait mieux marché en roman court type novella car c'est surtout l'ambiance et le lieu qui priment, les personnages étant surtout là pour balader le regard par ci par là et exprimer l'horreur de leur situation. En tout ça c'est comme ça que je l'ai ressenti, et je suis déçue que Dresde (l'automate) n'ai pas de chapitre de son point de vu. 10) Re-read with the Hobbsquad!

Finishing the month with THE DRAGON KEEPER by Robin Hobb, a re-read with the @hobbsquad readalong! I had forgotten so much, I'm so glad I took the time! I haven't re-read The Liveship Traders trilogy back in the spring but thankfully the book is mentioning some of the things that happened in a subtle way so as to remind readers of it, so I'm all set! I always found that Hobb did this really well, making all her series stand on their own enough even if reading everything was better! .
