The number of books I want to read is huge. But there are always some that I want to read MORE than others. Sometimes they end up deserving the hype, sometimes they don’t. Here are some of them (that I don’t own *yet*). Do not hesitate to comment if you’ve read them already!
The Queen of Blood (The Queens of Renthia #1), by Sarah Beth Durst (Goodreads)
I think this might be my favourite book cover for 2016. Connot wait to get my hands on it! Epic fantasy, magic and politics, spirits and adventures : there’s every ingredient to make me want to get that one!
“An idealistic young student and a banished warrior become allies in a battle to save their realm in this first book of a mesmerizing epic fantasy series, filled with political intrigue, violent magic, malevolent spirits, and thrilling adventure.”
Iron Cast, by Destiny Soria (Goodreads)
A YA novel that apparently focuses on two BFF, magic and mobsters! That one has been on my radar for quite a while!
“It’s Boston, 1919, and the Cast Iron club is packed. On stage, hemopaths—whose “afflicted” blood gives them the ability to create illusions through art—captivate their audience. Corinne and Ada have been best friends ever since infamous gangster Johnny Dervish recruited them into his circle. By night they perform for Johnny’s crowds, and by day they con Boston’s elite. When a job goes wrong and Ada is imprisoned, they realize how precarious their position is.”
A Closed and Common Orbit (Wayfarers #2), by Becky Chambers (Goodreads)
The companion book to The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet! It was my favourite last year so I’m very excited about this one! Not putting any small description here as it may spoil The Long Way! AND I don’t know when I’ll be reading it, since I want to buy it in the same edition I got The Long Way, which is the smaller paperback. And it’ll be out in APRIL. So maybe I’ll get the ebook and then the physical copy next year.
Revenger, by Alastair Reynolds (Goodreads)
I think I’ve never read any book by this famous author… I guess I have to start somewhere and why not his new one that I’ve seen all over twitter and bookstagram? Plus, Space pirates, need I say more?
Revenger is a science fiction adventure story set in the rubble of our solar system in the dark, distant future – a tale of space pirates, buried treasure and phantom weapons, of unspeakable hazards and single-minded heroism … and of vengeance …
Unfortunately at the moment I have books for school to buy and read and am drowning under school work, but I’ll definitely get around to read them soon *I hope* !
I am also very interested in Revenge by Alastair Reynolds. When I looked at the best space fictions for my next reads, it was a name that definitely caught my eyes so I’m quite interested in discovering one of his books.
